Founded in 1993, Benchmark Design International, Inc. (BDI) is a design firm in the Atlanta area specializing in multi-family land planning and architecture. For over ten years now, BDI has developed an expertise in attached housing (townhouse/rowhouse/condominium) design, and the firm has completed numerous high-density, infill housing and mixed use communities in more than 10 states. The two founding partners of the firm, Mr. King Poh Yeap and Mr. Donald Tracy Ward, work closely with their clients on every project.

King Yeap was born and raised in Malaysia. He came to the United States at the age of 17. After graduating from Auburn University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Architecture, King came to work for firms in Atlanta, Georgia and quickly become one of the city’s leading designers on projects including hotels, convention centers, athletic facilities, office buildings and more. His abilities as not only a talented designer but also a truly gifted artist, allow BDI to generate the creative quality demanded by the conscientious builder/developer.

Tracy Ward was born in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Mississippi State University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree (Bartlett School of Architecture, London, England 1985). He also came to Atlanta and gained valuable experience designing and managing projects including apartments, office, convention centers and more. He is responsible for the daily operations of the firm, business development, as well as overall management for most of Benchmark’s projects.

In each of our corporate entities some aspects remain important and consistent throughout our business ventures. We want to enjoy life in each daily accomplishment or challenge, and we strive to produce a significant profit when the day is done.
